Vietnam’s proposals reflected in APEC documents

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s message to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings is that APEC continues to be a key regional forum to promote multilateralism and multilateral cooperation to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic as well as serving as the driving force for the development of the regional and global economy, said a senior official on Friday.

Talking to the press on Vietnam’s contributions to APEC Summit Week 2021, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang said that President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the Vietnamese delegation actively participated in key activities including the 28th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and dialogues between leaders of APEC economies and the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC).

Giang stressed that Vietnam's initiatives and proposals have been reflected in APEC documents, including the APEC High-Level Statement, the APEC Ministerial Statement as well as the Action Plan to implement the APEC Vision 2040. This demonstrates the responsibility and active contributions of Vietnam, an APEC leading member in consolidating solidarity for a peaceful and stable Asia-Pacific region, the Deputy FM said.
