She said Vietnam's position is clearly outlined in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' statement on submitting the continental shelf boundary extending beyond 200 nautical miles in the East Sea. To demonstrate goodwill and responsibility, Vietnam has informed relevant countries about this issue through diplomatic channels.

"The discussions were conducted in a sincere, friendly, and straightforward manner. All countries recognize and respect Vietnam's right to submit the boundary of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles in accordance with Article 46 of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea,' said Hang.

On Wednesday, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, USA, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, along with a delegation led by Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai, Deputy Chairman of the National Border Committee, officially presented the submission of Vietnam’s extended continental shelf in respect of Central Area of the East Sea (internationally known as South China Sea) to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS).

On the same day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding  the submission offered by Vietnam.
