Online art program raises 5.7 million USD for COVID-19 battle

(VOVWORLD) - More than 5.7 million USD was raised at Sunday’s televised art program to support HCM city’s pandemic control efforts.

The program was co-organized by the city’s Department of Culture and Sports, the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global), and the Trinh Cong Son Foundation. 

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the tradition of solidarity and wisdom and the benevolent heart of every Vietnamese will converge and spread, especially in difficult times, providing a remedy and motivation to conquer all adversities.

The program showed artists supporting frontline pandemic forces and assisting people affected by coronavirus in Ho Chi Minh city, and shared touching stories about medical staff and military medical forces fighting for the lives of COVID-19 patients.

AVSE Global, which  has raised tens of millions of dollars in aid from the US, the UK, France, and other countries, used this art program to call for more donations to fly the medical supplies it has received from donors to Vietnam.
