Mr. Hue made the remark at a meeting organized by the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) in Hanoi on Friday to mark the 25-year normalization of Vietnam-US relations. He said two-way trade revenue increased 120 folds from 450 million USD in 1994 to more than 60 billion USD in 2018, adding that the US has been Vietnam’s largest importer and Vietnam has been the US’s export market with highest growth. The Deputy PM called for further cooperation in economics, trade, investment, science, technology, and education to benefit the two countries’ people, and for peace, cooperation, and co-development.

Amcham Chair Natasha Ansell said the normalization of bilateral ties opened opportunities for US businesses and investors to thrive in Vietnam. She said there is a belief that Vietnam and the US are working towards a stronger relationship.
