Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong meet with voters

Voter Trinh Thi Nga in Nam Dinh province wants the NA to focus on creating new rural areas. "Localities everywhere have carried out activities to build new rural areas. During this process, we trust the Party’s guidelines and government policies, but we face financial problems in achieving these targets. Voters hope the National Assembly will think more about incentives for building new rural areas, especially in disadvantaged localities. We hope to have more money to upgrade the infrastructure and public works as scheduled."

Nguyen Duc Noi lives in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum. "I’m keen in two issues. The National Assembly should be tougher when dealing with corruption. It’s necessary to thoroughly clarify an official’s assets at work and at home. The votes of confidence for officials elected or appointed by the National Assembly and local People’s Councils should go in hand with other measures, such as removing or rotating unqualified officials."

Voters in the Central Highlands and other mountainous regions want the NA to introduce more specific policies on ethnic affairs, such as investment, land management, resettlement rights and compensation. Y Dut Buon Gia in Chu Dut district has a wish list." We expect the deputies to care more about the lives and social welfare of ethnic minority groups, such as providing credit for agricultural production. It’s also absolutely essential to develop better human resources, who are the driving force in the hamlets and for national development."

Many voters voiced their concern about national defense, and territorial sovereignty.
