The ceremony was attended by Vietnamese Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, VOV President Nguyen The Ky, and Vietnamese Ambassador to India Pham Sanh Chau.

Mr. Ky stressed the importance of the Vietnam-India relationship, which has been raised to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Mr. Ky said: “With its strategic geographical location, population of 1.4 billion, old civilization, and a dynamic economy, India plays an important role in Indo-Pacific peace and stability. Vietnam is a pillar of India’s Look East policy and a key partner in the Indo-Pacific Vision. This year, with Vietnam being a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and ASEAN Chair, the two countries will have more opportunities to work together and contribute to the peace, stability, and prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region and the wider world.”

The inauguration of VOV bureau shows the development and strategic vision of VOV, one of Vietnam’s professional and modern multimedia agencies. Ambassador Chau said: “The opening of VOV bureau in India plays an important role. Vietnamese people will get a fresher, more updated, more modern, and more comprehensive look at India’s people and cooperation potentials. VOV and other Vietnamese news agencies will continue to boost tourism and investment opportunities.”

VOV and Indian news agency ANI signed a cooperation agreement on this occasion.
