(VOVWORLD) - The 56th General Assembly of the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union opened in Tokyo on Thursday. In his address, VOV President Nguyen The Ky said the ABU General Assembly has been an important forum connecting radio, TV, and media agencies in the region and around the world, contributing to cooperation between media agencies for a world of peace, progress, and development.

He said the Voice of Vietnam, which has been a full member of the ABU since 1964, has actively and responsibly participated in ABU activities. Mr. Ky said the Voice of Vietnam will host the 57th ABU General Assembly in Hanoi from October 22nd to 27th next year, adding that Vietnam will aim to impress the foreign delegates participating in the event. VOV and VTV welcome international delegates to the 2020 ABU General Assembly.
