At a meeting in Hanoi on Thursday with UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam Michael Croft, Mr. Ky said VOV aims to increase cooperation with UNESCO, particularly in organizing World Radio Day on February 13 which will have the theme “Radio and Diversity”. Mr. Ky said: “We highly appreciate the role of UNESCO and its activities in Vietnam. We particularly focus on communicating tangible and intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO to raise the public awareness about preserving and promoting the heritages for the next generations. We also prioritize communications geared toward the younger Vietnamese generation, and vulnerable people like women and ethnic minorities while paying special attention to cultural exchanges between Vietnam and other countries.”

The UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam pledged to help Vietnam and VOV to successfully organize the 2020 ABU General Assembly, adding that boosting cooperation with Vietnam is one of UNESCO’s strategic priorities in 2020 and the years to come.
