Winners of rural writing contest announced

(VOVworld) – 19 outstanding entries in a Writing Contest on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas were honored Monday by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper. A story about people making a fortune from the sea won the A prize. 3 B prizes were given to stories about Vietnamese fruit, helping agricultural businesses tackle difficulties, and Thoong Pe villagers escaping poverty and living harmoniously with border soldiers. The newspaper also awarded 5 C prizes and 10 consolation prizes. 300 entries in several genres honored role models for innovations and advanced technical applications in agricultural production. Many writers examined ways to solve problems to boost agricultural development and improve rural life. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh addressed the awards ceremony: I call on the People Newspaper and other media agencies to work more closely with relevant ministries and branches to promote a communication campaign with an innovative format and a broader distribution network. Such activities will enable the policies of the Party and State, especially those of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas, to reach people even in remote areas, giving them access to role models and lessons in developing agricultural production and building new rural areas, so the Resolution of the 7th plenum of the 10th Party Central Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural areas will be put into practice.
