Workers’ incomes increase 17% in 2019

(VOVWORLD) - A survey by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour shows that the average income of employees last year increased more than 17%, mainly due to changes in regional minimum wages and base salaries.

To date, almost all businesses have adjusted wages as regulated. Last year, enterprises provided better benefits to workers, and trade unions signed new agreements ensuring greater benefits.

Ngo Duy Hieu, the General Confederation’s Deputy Chairman, said: “A collective agreement is one legal tool dealing with collective labor disputes and harmonizing benefits towards stabilizing industrial relations. 70 collective agreements have been signed, benefiting more than 202,000 workers.”
