The workshop discussed full-time commune policing, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of local people, refuting allegations that the Vietnamese Government neglects ethnic minorities in remote and border areas, accusations that Vietnam has violated human rights, and Lai Chau’s efforts to eliminate human trafficking and help rescued victims of human trafficking stabilize their lives.

The Government's Steering Committee for Human Rights organized a field trip in Lai Chau to help reporters gather grassroots evidence of Vietnam’s human rights achievements, the results of social security policies, ensuring freedom of belief and religion, preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, and rejecting false claims that Vietnam violates human rights.
