This is part of a massive aid program worth 27 billion USD to Ukraine by the World Bank, the European Union and other partners. In a statement, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim said he hoped that the recent Minsk agreement and IMF agreement with Ukraine would pave the way for a more stable economic and development environment to benefit the people. Earlier, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde said the IMF, EU and some private organizations have reached a preliminary agreement with Ukraine on a financial aid package worth 40 billion USD in 4 years. The IMF will provide 17.5 billion USD. In response, Ukraine has to reform its economy and restructure its oil and gas group Naftogas.
