Young talents in 2020 honored

(VOVWORLD) -  Ten outstanding young Vietnamese and the 10 promising young talents were honored at a ceremony held in Hanoi on Sunday.

The honorees have had a positive influence on the community and have made outstanding achievements in education, innovation, production, startups, national defense, sports, culture, or community activities.

They include Tran Anh Tu, whose epidemiological analyses helped with COVID-19 contact tracing; Pham Ngoc Anh Tung, CEO of FoodMap, an e-commerce platform linking farmers with small and medium-sized producers and consumers; and Hoang Tuan Anh, who invented a “rice ATM” and a “face mask ATM” to help poor people get through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing the ceremony, Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, said, “Authorities, mass organizations, all of society, and each family needs to nurture and encourage young talents to dedicate their wisdom to the development of their homeland.”

On this occasion, the Vietnam Young Talent Fund and two individuals received the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit for discovering and promoting young talents.
