A Hiet learned about the campaign to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example when it was first launched in his village 12 years ago. A Hiet said he really admires President Ho Chi Minh as an example of uprightness, total dedication to the public interest, and complete selflessness.

“I see that President Ho Chi Minh’s moral thoughts are similar to religious teachings aimed at building a better society. So far, the campaign of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example has gotten a strong response from local people,” he said.

A Hiet said the lives of local people have changed since they began following the campaign. Villagers take better care of one another and help each other in production, practicing thrift, and preventing wastefulness by making full use of irrigation water and land. A Hiet also encourages local people to send their children to school.

“It’s good for the community if people actively follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. Moral principles encourage people to be responsible and contribute to the community,” he said.

In October, A Hiet was one of the delegates who attended Kon Tum province’s congress of ethnic minorities, where he delivered a speech about Catholic followers, the Party, and President Ho Chi Minh.
