Ho Chi Minh City offers new tours for summer holidays

(VOVWORLD) - Since the COVID-19 pandemic has been controlled, Vietnam’s tourism has recorded good results. This summer is anticipated as Vietnam’s tourism rebound. Ho Chi Minh City has launched new and exciting tours and services to attract visitors.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Tourism Department said aside from traditional tours to explore the Rung Sac Can Gio ecological site and Cu Chi Tunnel, the city has quickly launched new tours such as a city tour on double-deck bus, a bicycle tour, a boat tour on Sai Gon river, and a helicopter tour for a bird’s-eye view of the city.

Tourism companies have introduced several tours and organized diverse activities for this summer such as cycling, trekking, camping, and Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUB).

Hoang Thuy Linh, Deputy Director of Marketing and Communications of Saigontourist, said her company has combined the helicopter tour and on-land tours to create new experience of Ho Chi Minh city.

“Tourists can explore the city by helicopter, the Sai Gon river by boat, go around the city on double-deck bus, and finally enjoy southern food at Binh Quoi tourism complex”.

At the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival, the city and adjacent provinces have worked together on new tours.

Nguyen Thi Khanh, Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City’s Tourism Department, said: “Travel agencies and tourist sites in Ho Chi Minh City have drawn the interest of businesses from other localities. The city has a number of products that are developed in collaboration with provinces in the Mekong Delta and southeastern regions. The tourism triangle connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong province, and BinhThuan province is expected to attract a lot of tourists this summer.”

Ho Chi Minh City will launch new products this summer to attract domestic customers and draw experience before the peak vacation season for international guests in winter, said Le Truong Hien Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Tourism Department.

“One of the city’s targets is to increase tourists’ spending. So we have to improve service quality. We have offered new, high-spending products such as helicopter and yacht tours. We have worked with businesses to conduct surveys to improve service quality,” Mr. Hoa said.

The tourism sector is expected to bounce back strongly this summer, contributing to Ho Chi Minh City’s socio-economic recovery and development after the COVID-19 hiatus.
