VOV's writing contest on Vietnam-Indonesia relations

(VOVWORLD) - A writing contest on the topic of President Ho Chi Minh’s first visit to Indonesia and Indonesian President Sukarno’s visit to Vietnam in 1959 concluded earlier this week in Hanoi. The contest, co-organized by the Voice of Vietnam and the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam, marks the 65th anniversary of  diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Indonesia.

President Ho Chi Minh paid an official friendly visit to Indonesia from February 27 to March 3, 1959, his first to a Southeast Asian country. Just three months later, he welcomed Indonesian President Sukarno on an official visit to Vietnam, between June 24 and 29. The two historical visits laid a foundation for bilateral ties between Vietnam and Indonesia.
