Authorities put finishing touches to SEA Games

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has urged for completion of preparation for the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31), including the opening and closing ceremonies, means of transport, COVID-19 regulations, and guidelines for spectators and fans at the competition venues.

Deputy PM Dam, who is Head of the National Steering Committee for the 31st SEA Games, chaired a meeting on preparation for the Games in Hanoi on Friday.

The Organizing Committee said preparations have been basically completed and Vietnam is ready for the biggest sports festival in the region.         

The SEA Games 31 is scheduled to get underway from May 12 to May 23 in Hanoi and 11 neighboring localities. The event will see approximately 10,000 athletes and coaches from across Southeast Asia compete in 40 sports.
