Ninh Thuan province’s Party Congress resolution until 2025 has identified the promotion of innovation and marine economy as drivers for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, improvement of people's living standards, and ensuring national defense and security towards becoming a relatively developed locality of the region and Vietnam.

Creating a different development direction is what Ninh Thuan has focused on in recent years to attract greater investment for socio-economic growth.

It has maximized its potentials and advantages, outlined mechanisms and policies, completed transport infrastructure, arranged land for renewable energy projects, and cooperated with domestic and foreign investment attraction channels and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.

Vo Dinh Vinh, Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said that under the development orientation until 2030, Ninh Thuan aims to provide renewable energy for the whole nation.

According to vinh, with its advantages, Ninh Thuan is one of the potential localities for renewable energy and clean energy, with total capacity likely to reach over 40,000 MW. Solar energy has great potential thanks to year-round sunshine. Meanwhile, with wind flow reaching up to 6.5 to 9.5 meters per second and a height of about 65m, wind energy is another huge potential of the locality.

“We’ve defined solutions for the next development period for different regions to match the province’s potential and the Government’s resolution to help Ninh Thuan,” said Vinh.

Ninh Thuan has prioritized the development of digital infrastructure and connecting international flights to the locality or the neighboring provinces of Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong.

Nguyen Van Vinh, Director of the Ninh Thuan Department of Transport, said, “The Ministry of Transport is investing in the North-South expressway, with a 61.5-kilometer section running through Ninh Thuan. The province itself has invested in building a 22.5-kilometer road connecting the expressway to Ca Na seaport. The road is considered a strategic route for the development of Ninh Thuan’s southern key economic region.”

Ninh Thuan attaches special importance to creating and implementing provincial planning until 2030 with a vision to 2050, giving great attention to its position and role as a new growth area linking the central coastal region and neighboring provinces.

It also prioritizes restructuring the economy in combination with renovating the growth model, and creating breakthroughs in marine economy, agricultural production, renewable energy, processing, tourism, and urban economy.

In addition, it plans to turn hi-tech agriculture into an economic spearhead and form high-quality agricultural production regions to meet market demand toward the goal of having 3 to 5 hi-tech agricultural zones covering 1,000 hectares by 2025.

Dang Kim Cuong, Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that under the 14th provincial Party Congress resolution, the agriculture and rural sector has applied technology to production. 

“Value chains of agricultural production have been established in line with the resolution on high-tech agriculture development. 31 large-scale paddy fields have been formed to deploy the production by value chain. The model has increased the value 1.5 to 1.8 fold. 69 OCOP products have been launched, helping to connect farm produce sales for farmers, households, individuals, and businesses,” Cuong added.

Located on the tourist route between Nha Trang, Mui Ne, and Da Lat, Ninh Thuan province, the land of sun, wind, sand, and magnificent wild landscapes, is trying to develop its own tourism.

Ninh Thuan will continue to strongly reform administrative procedures and improve its investment environment and competitiveness, said Tran Quoc Nam, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

He said, “Ninh Thuan has many challenges compared to other localities but it has overcome many of them thanks to the Government’s support and the solidarity of the local Party, people, and army. Ninh Thuan has always been creative and innovative in adapting to new conditions.”

The Party, government, army, and people of Ninh Thuan will unite and make greater efforts to realize the goal of becoming a fairly developed province by 2025.
