Dinh Trong says Malaysia is stronger than last year, especially their offensive line with many players who possess high speed and stamina. The upcoming match will not be easy.

“Malaysia has studied Vietnam’s style thoroughly since their defeats. We all know each other and facing such a rival is not comfortable,” said Dinh Trong.

Dinh Trong encountered Malaysia three times last year: “I played in three games against Malaysia at the AFF Cup 2018. They had stamina. There were players who could read the situation. But Vietnam more or less found their weakness and we defeated them.”

Defeating Malaysia several times was very important to Dinh Trong and his teammates. It lent confidence to the team of coach Park Hang Seo at that time. Since then, the players have overcome many difficulties to win the Southeast Asia Championship after 10 years of waiting.

Dinh Trong believes that under the direction of Coach Park Hang Seo, his teammates will win again.

“I’m confident that Vietnam will defeat Malaysia. Mr. Park is very good at devising plans for this kind of match. We did it at the AFF Suzuki Cup in 2018. There is no reason we can’t do it at My Dinh Stadium, even knowing that this game will be extremely difficult for Vietnam, '' said the 22-year-old midfielder.

The third match of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers between Vietnam and Malaysia will take place at 8:00 pm on October 10.
