Goalie Van Lam feels great about Vietnam playing well against Thailand

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam goalkeeper Dang Van was upbeat about the great battle against Thailand last night at World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

In the Vietnam vs Thailand match in in My Dinh stadium, Van Lam stole the show with his excellent saves, helping Vietnam keep a clean sheet.

After the match ended, Van Lam told reporters: “Vietnam players performed well against Thailand, earning one point and securing our top spot on the table. I feel great.”

“Before every match, the head coach points out our strengths and weaknesses so we can make change. Currently, my goal is to do well in each match with the national team. World Cup is a dream of every player and we will do our best in each game,” Van Lam said.

Vietnam is still ranked 1st with 11 points from 5 matches. Meanwhile, Thailand falls to third place, following Malaysia who won 2-0 over Indonesia.

The match last night was team Vietnam’s final match of 2019. The World Cup  qualifiers will restart on March 31, 2020 with Vietnam travelling to Malaysia. For coach Park Hang-seo, his next goal for this year is to conquer the South East Asian Games gold medal in the Philippines later this month.
