The annual Ba Trieu Temple Festival pays tribute to national heroine Trieu Thi Trinh who led a rebellion against the Chinese invaders in the second century. The ceremony included a worshiping ritual, a procession, and an oration delivery at the temple.

Dau Thanh Tung, Chairman of the Thanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, said, "We’ll continue to strengthen the management, protection and promotion of this national intangible heritage and further promote Thanh Hoa’s history and culture to the world."

The same day, a seminar on preserving and promoting cultural identities of ethnic groups took place in Son La city as part of the Ban Flower Festival. Artisan Hoang Thi Mai, who is passionate about preserving and teaching Thai folk songs, said, "I am a black Thai of Son La. I understand Thai language and folk songs very well. I’m turning 75 years old this year and I have been singing since I was six."

Since 2012, Mai has organized classes to teach Thai writing and singing to students of various ages. She said these classes need to be expanded to help preserve the ethnic language and folk tunes."

At the seminar, participants stressed the need to restore and promote traditional festivals, traditional costumes, embroidery and brocade weaving villages, and ethnic culinary culture, and hold contests to disseminate Thai literature and art.

A spring festival is taking place at Dong Giang Heaven Gate Ecotourism Complex in Quang Nam, featuring the ‘Tung tung da da’ traditional dance and the new rice festival. The three-day festival, which opened on Friday, was attended by dozens of local Co Tu ethnic artisans.

Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "We hope that after Dong Giang Heaven Gate Ecotourism Complex, more projects will be invested in Quang Nam province."
