Attracting overseas Vietnamese's contributions to their home country

(VOVworld) - Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha  told a roundtable with experts that Vietnam should have more policies to attract talented Vietnamese expats to return home to contribute to the country’s development.

Attended the discussion were Director of the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) Professor Ngo Bao Chau, Rectors of the Hanoi Technology University of Science and Technology Hoang Minh Son, and Editor-in-chief of Global Learning and Global Citizenship Education under the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Nguyen Anh Tuan.
Minister Nha said attracting talented overseas Vietnamese to serve in the education and training cause will help solve challenges the country faces when it integrates deeper into the international community.

He added that to make the policy successful, it is important to create a good working environment for those returning. Earlier, the Prime Minister entrusted the ministry to coordinate with relevant bodies to propose mechanisms, policies and measures to effectively employ and attract overseas Vietnamese students right after their graduation.
