Domestic and foreign reporters ready for 12th Party Congress

(VOVworld) – About 80 domestic and foreign reporters will cover the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam scheduled to open on Wednesday.

Kazuomi Shimizu, chief of Japan’s News Agency NHK, said this is his first time he participates in reporting news about the Vietnamese Party Congress. Before its official launch, he and his colleagues have run a lot of articles featuring preparations for the meeting and Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements in recent years.

Kazuomi said “foreign correspondents are interested in Vietnam’s economic reforms and East Sea issues which have become more complicated and the Japanese government is seriously concerned. What we want to know is how the Communist Party of Vietnam will do to resolve East Sea issues.”

Reporter Bac Van in charge of Party building section of Nhan Dan/People’s Newspaper said “we will have two groups of reporters to cover the National Party Congress. One group will directly follow the Congress and the other team which includes all our correspondents in localities will stay outside the meeting hall to report all activities toward the congress.”

A press center to cover the 12th National Party Congress has opened. Deputy Head of the Central Department for Propagation and Education Nguyen The Ky said that in addition to infrastructure and equipment, the press center will hold press conferences to update news on the congress for press agencies and reporters.
