Organized by the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) and embassies of European countries in Vietnam, the event will include book introductions, book reading sessions, literature discussions, and book festivals.

EUNIC’s President Thierry Vergon said Vietnamese readers will have a chance to explore literature works from the UK, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, France, Finland, Czech Republics, Spain, Norway, Sweden, and Italy.

Two contests, “European characters in Vietnam’ and “Quiz on European Literature Days”, were held on this occasion attracting several participants who are passionate about literature and arts.

There also will be a series of meetings with authors, editors, and translators from publishing houses, book conferences, and other interactive activities.

The European Literature Days has been an annual event in Hanoi since 2011 aiming to introduce and honor best of the European culture to Vietnamese readers. This year’s event will run until May 21.
