Currently, scientific and technological development enables women to increase their knowledge and apply IT in their personal and profressional life. But the 4th Industrial Revolution has also challenged women, especially in accessing and applying new technologies and in harmonizing their work and family life.

Economist Pham Chi Lan called on Vietnamese women to improve soft skills and their ability to connect and adapt to new things.

Do Thi Thu Thao, Deputy President of the Vietnamese Women’s Union, said: “More than ever, Vietnamese women should be more proactive, because they have to both manage their families and pursue their business dreams. It’s necessary for them to be open and to eradicate the anachronistic preconception about Vietnamese women which says,  ‘a woman’s world is the family, the kitchens, and to take care of husbands and children’. Thus, they should have a broad vision, be good at IT, and improve their skills to meet the changes required by the 4th Industrial Revolution.”

On the occasion, Google’s Digital 4.0 program in Vietnam was introduced where participants shared  experiences in production, trading, credit connection, and product consumption.

The forum was jointly held by the Vietnamese women’s Union, Google, and the Hai Phong Women’s Union.
