Tourist spots attract crowds of visitors during national holidays

(VOVWORLD) - Tourist spots across Vietnam are welcoming crowds of visitors during the national holidays which mark the 44th Reunification Day (April 30) and the International Labor Day (May 1).

Thousands of people have visited and offered incense at the Truong Bon national historical relic site in Nghe An province. The site was a key transport hub from the north to the south where over 1,200 officers, soldiers, young volunteers, transport workers and militia died ensuring the transportation of aid to the southern front during war time. Thong Philavong, an overseas Vietnamese in Laos, said: "We organize an event during which overseas Vietnamese pay tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the national liberation and recall predecessors’ contributions to Vietnam and Laos".

200,000 tourists have flocked to Do Son resort in Hai Phong city which is home to 17 relic sites, such as Ben Nghieng Wharf which witnessed the last French colonial soldiers leave Vietnam in 1955, K15 Relic, Dau temple, Hang pagoda, and Tuong Long tower.

Da Nang has welcomed over 370, 000 tourists including more than 110,000 foreigners. The city hosted various activities including an exhibition on recycled products from trash, sports competitions, and hot air balloon performances. Nguyen Phuong Mai, a tourist from Quang Binh province, said: "I enjoy many activities along Da Nang beach. My favorite is the air balloon festival because it’s a rare opportunity to participate in such an event."

Sea island tours have appealed 50,000 visitors to Binh Dinh province. Le Thi Vinh Huong, deputy director of the provincial tourism department, said: "We’re working on developing new tourism products like those on coastal community tourism and seafood farming."
