The ministers promised coordinated measures to deal with the impacts of COVID-19 on labor markets, ensure a sustainable economic recovery, bolster labor markets with priority given to decent jobs, and provide adequate social protection for all, including women, youth, the self-employed, and casually employed.

Vietnam’s Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung told the meeting that Vietnam has allocated 2.7 billion USD to 20 million individuals hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ministry has proposed additional funding to revive production, Mr. Dung said.

“The Vietnamese Government will roll out more aid packages to revive business activities and people in poverty, and restore human resources training.  Vietnam is expected to record positive growth thanks to the Government’s effective measures and cooperation from the business community and the labor force,” according to Minister Dung.
