Vietnam posts 1.5 billion USD of trade surplus in first half of 2016

(VOVworld) – Vietnam is estimated to post a trade surplus of around 1.5 billion USD in the first half of 2016, according to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office (GSO) on Tuesday.

During this period, Vietnam is expected to earn over 82 billion USD from exports, up nearly 6 percent year-on-year. The US remained the largest market for Vietnamese export, followed by the EU, China, and the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Meanwhile, during the period, Vietnam spent 80.7 billion USD for imports, down 0.5 percent. Major imported products are from China, RoK, ASEAN, Japan, EU, and the US.
