Vietnamese youth hand in hand fight Covid-19

(VOVWORLD) - The Hanoi Youth Union on Wednesday launched a youth voluntary program for the community’s health including blood donation, free delivery of hand sanitizer and face masks, and communications activities on the Covid-19 epidemic.

A voluntary team was established to help the city authorities, police, army, and healthcare forces in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. Nguyen Thanh Duy is a volunteer: “We work at a quarantine area in Phap Van – Tu Hiep. We organized communication groups to help local people make health declaration and give them face masks, and hand sanitizer. We have prepared ourselves with prevention measures against the disease.”

Hundreds of students of the Medicine and Pharmacy College of the Hue University have supported medical workers, police and army forces at Covid-19 checkpoints.

Nguyen Van Hung from the Medicine and Pharmacy College said: “Our students have worked with local authorities and agencies to help people, including foreigners, fill in health declaration sheets. The students have medical knowledge and can speak foreign languages to talk to foreigners.”

About 800 medics of Medicine and Pharmacy faculties of Tay Nguyen University, Buon Ma Thuot University, and Dak Lak College will join local forces in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.

Vietnam will celebrate the 89th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on March 26th.
