In the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, a get-together was held on Friday and an event was launched to preserve the Ao Dai, the national traditional long dress.

Vo Kim Thoa, Vice Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Women’s Association, called on the association’s members and local women to further boost emulation movements organized by the association.

“We’ll increase communication for women to participate in the Ao Dai event in honor of the Vietnamese long dress and encourage them to wear it in daily activities and national major events. The municipal association and the Labor Confederation will jointly launch a movement of wearing the traditional long dress among workers every day,” said Thoa.

On Friday, the Vietnam Women’s Union and the International Organization for Migration held a conference in Hanoi on improving Vietnam’s capacity in supporting women to integrate sustainably after repatriation.
