(VOVWORLD) - The 2nd ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise (AMNEX 2) opened on Friday at the Philippines’ Naval Operating Base Subic.

AMNEX 2 will advance interoperability, responsiveness, and readiness among naval forces to address regional maritime concerns. Joint exercises planned for Saturday and Sunday included maritime search and rescue operation, maneuvering, and communication drills in waters off Subic Bay, the Philippines.
Participating in AMNEX 2 were naval ships from Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, and the host Philippines.
Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 4 Colonel Nguyen Van Ngan and Lieutenant Colonel Ma Nguyen Thanh, Captain of 015-Tran Hung Dao naval ship, attended the event.
