The honorees include Ms. Chalermkwan Chaiworasin, a Vietnamese-Thai in Phu Tho province, who has given blood and platelets 97 times. The 100 individuals collectively donated 6,400 units of blood and platelets.
In his address at the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man urged for a long-term blood donation strategy. “To ensure that the voluntary blood donation movement continues to spread, the NA and its agencies will continue to refine policies and legislation. Interests of blood donors must be guaranteed, while humanitarian activities be facilitated to develop in the right direction, transparently and effectively,” said Mr Man.
“The health sector should develop a long-term blood donation strategy and effectively implement the Politburo Resolution No. 72 and NA resolution No. 261 on breakthrough solutions to protect people's health,” he noted.
2026 marks the 18th edition of the program. This year’s theme is "A drop of blood, a gesture of humanity – donating blood, giving life".
For two decades, the program has honored exemplary individuals who have saved lives through their selfless blood donations and has demonstrated the commitment of the Party, the State, and society to voluntary blood donation.
