The opening session is expected to be attended by senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, along with leaders from many ASEAN member states. The Prime Ministers of Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Timor-Leste are visiting Vietnam to attend the Forum and pay official visits to the country.
Following the opening session, delegates will take part in plenary discussions on many important topics, including strengthening ASEAN’s resilience and solidarity; promoting ASEAN initiatives on conflict prevention; and applying artificial intelligence (AI) to regional development.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong said: “This year’s theme accurately reflects the core priorities that ASEAN and the wider region are pursuing. Peace is the prerequisite for development; prosperity is the shared goal of all member states; and placing people at the center is the guiding spirit of the ASEAN Community.”
