"The ultimate goal of establishing Quang Ninh as a centrally-governed city is to ensure that it becomes a high-quality urban center with a strong driving force and wide-ranging impact, generating growth for both the region and the country,” said Madam Tra, adding, “Once recognized as a centrally-governed city, it must maintain sustainable urban quality."
She said Quang Ninh’s urban development plan through 2050, with a vision to 2075, must be finalized and submitted to the relevant authorities for approval this month. All procedures for its recognition as a Type I urban area are expected to be completed before July 5.
Following the incorporation of feedback from the Party Central Committee, the proposal will be further refined and submitted to the National Assembly for consideration at its October session.
