During talks following the official welcome ceremony on Monday, the two Prime Ministers agreed to continue strengthening political trust; effectively implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; and enhance cooperation in defense, security, and combating transnational crime.

They agreed to promote connectivity in transport, logistics, aviation, and tourism; study the development of road and coastal waterway transport routes linking the two countries and the Mekong sub-region; enhance the effectiveness of the Vietnam–Thailand Joint Trade Committee mechanism; facilitate market access for each other’s goods; and strive to soon achieve the bilateral trade target of 25 billion USD, with a long-term goal of 50 billion USD.

They also agreed to expand cooperation in agriculture, food security, and emerging sectors such as science and technology, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, the digital economy, green economy, energy, and innovation. They pledged to create favorable conditions for investors from both countries to expand investment in Vietnam and Thailand, while promoting business connectivity, supply chains, and strategic cooperation projects. Both sides also agreed to strengthen people-to-people exchanges, as well as cooperation in culture, tourism, and twinning relations between localities.

The two Prime Ministers agreed to continue close coordination within ASEAN and multilateral mechanisms; emphasized the importance of maintaining ASEAN unity, cohesion, and centrality; and promoting ASEAN’s common position on the East Sea based on international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982). They also agreed to strengthen cooperation within the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS).
