President Truong Tan Sang kicks off official visit to Japan

(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang and his entourage arrived at Haneda airport of Japan on Sunday, kicking off his official visit to Japan at the invitation of Japanese Emperor Akihito and his Queen. President Sang was received at the airport by Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Ishihara, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Fukuda, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung, as well as representatives of Vietnamese people living and working in Japan. Sang was welcomed with 21-gun salute which shows Japan’s attached importance to President Sang’s first official state visit to the country and the fine developing Vietnamese-Japanese relationship.

President Sang’s visit is of great political significance for both countries’ bilateral ties, which aims to enhance political trust and bilateral coordination in international issues, boost bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, science and technology, education, and agriculture.
President Sang is scheduled to visit some high-quality agricultural models in Ibaraki province where he will witness the signing of cooperative agreements between Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ibaraki province.
