The 2017 Student Entrepreneurship Festival initiated by the Hanoi Municipal Youth Union promotes the vanguard role of youth union organizations in supporting young entrepreneurs. 500 students and representatives of businesses involved in renewable energy, services, tourism, and transportation participated in the event. Bui Thuy Ha of the University of Natural Sciences said:“Attending this festival, I want to learn more about entrepreneurship, make more friends who want to start a company like me, and meet recruiters. I will attend consultation sessions, apply for a probationary job, and learn from predecessors.”

After graduating, many young people have returned to their home province to start up their own business. Many of them have become successful thanks to their passion for entrepreneurship and support from local authorities and organizations. Nguyen Trong Hoa, a former student of the University of Natural Sciences of the National University in Ho Chi Minh City, now owns a mushroom production factory. He said: “To be successful, you need to be passionate about entrepreneurship and about the business area that you will pursue. Then, you need to be active in learning and handling your work. Once you have passion, you will be creative. In addition to passion, you need to become an expert in your field.”

A large number of young start-ups in Vietnam get involved in agriculture. Their successful models of growing cash crops and safe vegetable and livestock production have promoted the entrepreneurship spirit in rural areas.
