44 killed in bomb blast in Nigeria
(VOVworld) - At least 44 people were killed and 50 others injured in a twin bomb blast in the central Nigerian city of Jos, in a bloody week of violence blamed on Boko Haram.
Police said at least 18 people were killed Sunday night in an attack at a shopping complex. Four minutes later a bomb exploded near a popular mosque. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks but religiously divided Jos has been targeted before by militants. Boko Haram has stepped up its attacks in northern Nigeria since the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari in May.
