(VOVworld)- The 5^th Asian Beach Games opened in Da Nang on Saturday attracting the participation of 4,600 coaches and athletes from 45 countries and territories. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc delivered a speech to open the Games.

Opening the event was an art performance under the theme “Brighten the ocean- brighten the future” which featured songs and dances embracing with typical characteristics of fisherman in the central Vietnam and aspiration to build an Asian common house of peace and friendship.  

The event will feature 14 sports with 22 events competing for 165 sets of medals.
