Latest statistics show that 1,805 have died in the earthquake and about 5,000 people have been injured. The casualties are estimated to be higher because the rescue workers have been unable to reach many seriously damaged areas.

India and China have also been seriously affected by the earthquake. The Indian Minister of Home Affairs confirmed 34 deaths. The quake triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest, killing at least 17 people in Tibet, China.

India has sent two search and rescue teams and 15 tons of relief goods to Nepal a few hours after the earthquake. The US sent aid worth 1 million USD and a disaster response team, while Singapore deployed a rescue team of 55 members to Nepal.
