China’s 12th National People’s Congress convenes 5th session

(VOVworld) - The fifth session of China’s 12
th National People's Congress (NPC) begins on Sunday. China’s President, Prime Minister, Chairman of the National People’s Congress, and Chairman of the People's Political Consultative Conference and 2,900 delegates will discuss reports on the government’s performance last year and plans for socio-economic development.
They will debate and approve a national development framework, the implementation of the 5-year plan and target of an average annual growth of more than 6.5 percent from 2016 to 2020, defense budget increase by 7%, and a number of draft laws.
