Chinese, Vietnamese leaders call on youth to do more for the bilateral friendship

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Chinese Party General Secretary and State President Xi Jinping attended the 15th China-Vietnam friendship youth meeting in Beijing on Tuesday.

The two leaders urged Vietnamese and Chinese youth to contribute to the bilateral friendship.Party leader Trong said the traditional friendship between the two parties and peoples set up and fostered by President Ho Chi Minh and President Mao Zedong and generations of predecessor revolutionaries is a precious asset that needs to be treasured:“I hope that young people from both countries will continue to promote friendship exchanges and practical cooperation to enhance mutual understanding, support and learning for advancement. Youth represents national energy and the future generation in whom we place our trust.”

Xi Jinping proposed that Vietnam and China strengthen people-to-people exchanges and neighborly friendship so that the two nations’ amity will be passed down from generation to generation.
