(VOVworld) – A conference was held in Kien Giang province on Thursday to discuss ways to improve communications on promoting human rights. Discussion topics included a legal framework for ensuring human rights in Vietnam, current mass media communications, Party and state policies, and human rights in diplomatic communications.Participants noted that Vietnam has joined many international conventions, guaranteed the protection of human rights, and fulfilled ahead of schedule a number of UN Millennium Development Goals on human rights, especially poverty reduction and universal education goals. These achievements have contributed to the national solidarity, the national construction, and the national defense.
