(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held on Monday to review 5 years of the cow bank project. Approximately 20,000 cows have been given to poor households nationwide to help them escape poverty and improve their living standard.

President Truong Tan Sang, who is Honorary President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, said the project has been acknowledged by many international organizations and associations. He said that the Vietnamese Party and state value the role and coordination of the Vietnam Red Cross Society in humanitarian activities and its contributions to reducing poverty and safeguarding national defense and border security.
