(VOVworld) - Cuba and Germany on Thursday signed a joint statement on bilateral cooperation, expressing a shared willingness to promote dialogues and boost ties in an array of fields. The statement is an outcome of German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier's visit to Cuba. Steinmeier and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a political consultation mechanism. Prior to the ceremony, the two foreign ministers held official talks at the headquarters of the Cuban Foreign Ministry. Rodriguez stressed the historical significance of Steinmeier's visit, saying it reflects the positive momentum of bilateral ties and a strong mutual interest in their development.
