Cuban President Raul Castro begins state visit to Mexico

(VOVworld) – Cuban President Raul Castro started a state visit to Mexico on Friday. The visit came as Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto seeking ways to strengthen economic relation with Cuba after the two countries have restarted bilateral relation.

This is Castro’s first state visit to Mexico since he took power in 2006 replacing his brother Fidel Castro. President Pena Nieto received Mr. Castro in Merida, eastern Mexico, where the Cuban leader attended a parade.
The two leaders expected to sign agreements on education, tourism, trade, and immigration.
