Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh receives US senator John McCain
(VOVworld) - Defense co-operation between Vietnam and the US has seen positive outcomes in recent years, Defense Minister General Phung Quang Thanh noted during a reception on Wednesday for US Senator John McCain, who is on an official visit to Vietnam. Minister Thanh said the two sides have worked together effectively in the fields of training, military medicine, UXO clearance, overcoming Agent Orange/dioxin consequences, and searching for soldiers’ remains. He called the US senator’s visit a good opportunity to discuss other areas of co-operation and expressed his hope that Senator McCain will help expand collaboration between the two nations.
