(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai paid a visit to Vladivostock, Russia this weekend to attend the 17^th session of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Governmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation.

Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov signed an agreement to open a new air route, operated by Vietnam’s budget carrier VietJet Air, linking Vietnam with Vladivostock, Russia’s largest in the Far East. The Vietnamese airline is eying other regional destinations, such as Cambodia, Thailand, and Singapore, in the near future.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai visited several industrial, healthcare, and educational centers in Vladivostock, and met with leaders of Russian oil and shipping corporations there. He also met with the Vietnamese General Consulate staff and overseas Vietnamese living in Vladivostock.
