France, Germany propose sending drones to monitor Ukraine ceasefire

(VOVworld) - France and Germany have offered to deploy drones to help the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) monitor Ukraine's ceasefire. Romain Nadal, a spokesperson for the French Foreign Ministry, told reporters Monday that the proposal was made at the request of the OSCE.

Despite the September 5th ceasefire, fighting has flared around Donetsk international airport in eastern Ukraine, which is under the government’s control. At least 21 people were killed and 37 injured in clashes between government troops and the opposition on Monday, the bloodiest day since the truce took effect.
