This was concluded at a workshop on German market-highlights for Vietnamese exporters organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hanoi on Wednesday. Over the past years, especially during the 2010-2013 period, two-way trade turnover rose 7.5 times to reach 7.7 billion USD. The German market is a significant entry point for Vietnamese goods to other markets in the EU. Bui Huy Son, Head of the Trade Promotion Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: "The Vietnamese and German economies are inter-dependent. Vietnam exports mobile phones and mobile phone spare parts, garments and textiles, seafood, and coffee to Germany while importing machines, chemicals and high-tech products".
